Uxtheme Multi-patcher will allow you to use any 3rd party msstyle theme on Windows XP/SP1/SP2 or Windows Server 2003 (with Themes enabled) just by patching the uxtheme.dll (dynamic link library).
It’s quite disappointment that 4.0 which claimed it should work on x64 OS but it didn’t work. This time it wouldn’t disappoint you since I tested the method and it can finally by-pass 32-bit redirection system. Grab the world first 32-bit patcher that works on x64 OS today!

Well, I have a problem with this patcher… There’s a messages like this when I click on UXTheme Multi-Patcher 5.0.exe:
“Windows NT Setup files Detected…

that there’s any Windows NT setup file in
c:\windows\\i386
It’s not recommend you to continue with this.
Please eject your Windows NT CD or move
that folder to somewhere else. Press Ok to exit

Mine said the same thing; what is the problem?
Use 4.0 if your running a x32 processor. People have said THAT works for sure.

The message from WinXP is a standard one – it will be shown if the system files is to be modificated somehow. After you run UXtheme, just click “Cancel” on the first message and “Yes” for confirmation on the second. It works on x32 xp. I’ve tried it.

Well, I have a bit of a problem. After having trouble with the Neowin manual patch, I ran this patch; It only worked halfay: my explorer windows are skinned, but my taskbar and startup menu will not skin! Im quite confused..

I was formerly using the original uxtheme.dll replacer found here http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=339820 with no success. Then, I tried this uxtheme multi-patcher, but it only did half the job: my taskbar is NOT skinned (it is still windows classic style) while file/explorer windows are the desired custom msstyle.
For people who will understand: If it matters, my WindowsXP was installed over a Windows 2000, so I do not have a ‘WINDOWS’ file, instead it is called ‘WINNT’ .
Yea it has to be normal windows XP with the windows folder. I havent heard of anyone getting it to work with WINNT folder. sorry ;(
I’m getting this problem too, but I’m running genuine windows xp home edition SP2. Does anyone know what’s happening?

I also have the WINDOWS folder, but when I go into i386, I get these folders: ASMS, COMPDATA, DRW, LANG, SYSTEM32, and WINNTUPG. Is WINNTUPG the problem, or is it part of win xp?

People have had more luck using the version 4.0 of the patch. Version 5 was released primarly for 64 bit operating systems, so there are some problems with it, since 99.9% of the people even if they have a x64 bit processor are running windows in 32bit mode. So for 99.9% of the world I would recommend using version 4. :)

Just run the patcher again ovidick. It will reset your settings.
