10 reasons why George W. Bush is a bad president

  1. He shouldn’t have been elected the first time and only reason he won the 2nd time was because we were in the middle of the Iraq war that he contrived probably just to get reelected.
  2. He’s stupid. He can’t talk and is not a good leader. He’s not a role model anyone can look up to. He does not inspire confidence that he is doing a good job or the right thing. Morons and idiots should be barred from public office because they are not able to handle complex tasks such as running the most powerful nation in the world.
  3. He has strong ties to Oil and Gas companies, who think the best solution for becoming less dependant on Foriegn Oil is to invade other countries, spend hundreds of billions of dollars and thousands of American lives in a foolhardy task, rather than make a serious investment in next generation fuels.
  4. His enviromental policy sucks. He thinks drilling in Alaska Artic preserve is ok. He thinks less restrictions on pollution is ok. He has made no effort to address the Kyoto treaty.
  5. He vacations alot, which means he is lazy. He expects other people to the job for him. He always looks to blame other people for his mistakes. (Hurricane Katrina)
  6. He is openly Christian and ties his religion too much to his politics. The USA is about equal representation and diversity. We need to work VERY hard on making people other religions feel like they are welcome in our culture. 9/11 and the backlash by anti-western fundamentalists is proof of this. Occupying another nation is NOT the best way to do this.
  7. DMCA and the Patriot Act were responsible for the loss of personal freedoms resulting in corporate America and the federal government perscuting the American people unjustly.
  8. Very, very bad economic policy resulting in a drastic rise of national debt. Privatizing Social Security is a really bad idea. http://zfacts.com/p/318.html
  9. Other countries do not respect him. He is a poor representation of the quality of people who should be leading this nation.
  10. Finially, I think he is a horrible president because he starts things but doesn’t finish them (Afganistan/Bin Laden) and also he makes bad decisions and doesn’t admit to them (Iraq).

As a historian, I feel pretty qualified to speak on this topic. George Bush is an abomination of a President, though hardly due to the reasons presented. Under President Bush, the economy has grown steadily weaker, gas prices have surged (and yes, you can blame that on Bush, or more specifically, Dick Cheney with his ties to Halliburton), and general sentiment has grown against him. His approval ratings are the lowest of any President in history- that includes Nixon. There’s really not much in the way of a silver lining.

Bush has done all of two things right during his administration. The first was getting id of Saddam Hussein, and he couldn’t even do that right, violating the dictator’s constitutional rights by giving him an absolute farce of a trial. Even though he should have rightly been deposed, even Hussein has basic rights, regardless of the fact that we detest him. Secondly, I do commend Bush for setting aside millions of acres of national parks for conservation. Of course, when you weigh that against the fact that Bush wants to drill for oil in Alaska, it really doesn’t mean much.

And to all those Bush supporters who say things like “You should have voted”, or “If you don’t like it, move”, I’ll have you know that a)I voted in the last election for Libertarian candidate Michael Badnarik, and 2) In mid-2002, I was fortunate enough to have the means to move to Merida, Mexico. I moved because I could not stand the fact that Bush was leading the United States into the ground and that the mindless drones of American people were follwing him like sheep to a slaughter. So to all you people, I say Adios!

Nice one. You are so right, bush is an incompetent jackass who would be nowhere in life if his father was not a politician. He would not have gone to yale, he would not have become governor of texas and he would not have become president if the supreme court didn’t like him better. he is a child stuck in a adult’s body

Where is it written a President must always consult with everyone about a war… We may be a country for the people & by the people…but we sure do not have all the knowledge here…

Well, one thing we do know is that everything he said to get us into the war was false.

The stated aims of the war were to take away Saddam’s WMDs; to stop him supporting al-Qaeda; and to remove him from office. The first two of those objectives were accomplished before the invasion (because Saddam never had WMDs and, as a secularist, was never friendly with the religious fanatics of al-Qaeda) and the third was done years ago. This was not supposed to be a “nation-building” mission, so why am I still paying to have Iraqis shot? Apparently it’s because of the unrest stirred up by the American presence.

Why does government have to treat every bad policy as a sacred commitment?

No WMD’s huh?…. ever heard of him gassing innocent people and poising his own people…. this acts are part of WMD’s (for instance nerve agents). He was a big part in the al-Qaeda with giving support to Osama. And although he wasnt in office he still played a big part in everyday activity.

Althought most of the far left and libral’s believe if we pull our troops out of Iran and Iraq that our problems would be over thats not true. We will always have some war to fight regardless if its called a police action or war. We are the world police and once we give up that role we will lose our freedom to the next super power.

Last topic…. even though you think Bush is a bad president just think about what our country would have been with dumb shit Kerry. Or what we might become with Hilary (oh great another Clinton) or Obama (for all we know could be a sleeper cell). But hey accourding to the Mayan calander we will all be died on May 12, 2012.

despite the fact that i don’t agree with George Bush’s policies, nor do i support him, i find all of your reasons without research, but most specifically, general knowledge of american politics, it seems that you’re just jumping up on the hate the current president bandwagon

    lets start with #10
Going into Afghanistan was a perfect decision, something that any president would have done. All ties to 9-11 point to Taliban, and guess where they were located….. as the government of the fricken country
    - his “economic policy” is bad because he was unfortunately the president when all the credit companies asked for their dues
-As for Iraq, it’s called guerrilla warfare, you might call it an insurgency to be politically dogmatic, but that was Saddam’s plan from the start, to simple melt into the populations, no uniforms, pull the U.S. into a war that is unpopular and that we cannot get out of, and simply pick people off until we leave…. Vietcong anyone?

    learn your shit

I wonder why so many people like to comment stuff. Why is this kind of spending your free time so popular? Maybe people have a lack of communication in real world? Maybe that’s because they have a lot of problems in reality and want to run away from them? Maybe they need new impressions and experience? Or they just got suck here? I don’t have a clue. What do you all think?

First of all I know that Bush is the dumbest president this country has ever had, Second He is the most inadequate President this country has ever had, Third I do believe that his drunk family is friends with Osama Bin Laden, that is why he did not go after him after 9/11. In honesty he went after the wrong person. Now our men and women in the military is being killed for nothing.GOD has the final word and we may not like Bush, he’s in office for some reason we just don’t know what.

It is fine to be religious, but since you have decided to bring the constitution into your point, have you ever heard of “Separation of church and state”? It is a political and legal doctrine that government and religious institutions are to be kept separate and independent from each other.

It is very evident that things are not ok, someone is not doing their job somewhere. When every business in our city is hurting & every single person I know is hurting from the economy theres a problem. I’ve seen how all is buying only what they need, and thats only if they can afford it.

We are not a country for the people by the people, because if we were then the “Founding Fathers” wouldn’t have created the Constitution in secrecy and they would have allowed more than white, rich, property-owning individuals to have a say in the creation of a free nation. And another thing we’re not completely free…our freedoms are being taken away from us a little at a time.
